My name is Jonathan Winternheimer and I’m a marriage counsellor based at Relationship Counselling Whitstable.

I have over nine years experience working with couples, individuals and families in private practice, carer support services and London Public Sector organisations. I hold a dual MSc qualification in marriage counselling, individual, family and child therapy and I’m a registered systemic psychotherapist with the UKCP and AFT.

I consider myself to be warm, approachable and supportive and my aim is to  work with you to help improve communication and enable you to move forward more positively.

My name is Beverley Mears and I’m a relationship therapist based at Relationship Counselling Canterbury and Whitstable practices. I am a KCP registered psychoanalytic psychotherapist and experienced couples therapist. I have been involved in the training and supervising of couple counsellors working in primary care since 2011.

I am listed with British Society for Couples Psychotherapist and Counsellors (BSCPC) as accredited as a Couple Therapy for Depression Practitioner and Supervisor.

I have a specialist interest in the relationship between how OCD affects the couple intimate relationship. My doctoral thesis was investigating the connection between problems with sexual intimacy, the early attachment relationship and OCD.

I bring my understanding of attachment theory and relationship scripts to my work with couple and seek to develop improved communication and understanding within the couple relationship. I have a specialist interest in how attachment wounds from the past impact upon couple intimacy.

My warm, professional approach will help you feel comfortable in order to be able to open up about what you feel the problems are in your relationship, – from each individual perspective. We will then work together to help you find a more positive way forward.
