Beverley Simpkins

Sevenoaks & West Wickham Practice

Couple Counselling Sevenoaks

My name is Beverley Simpkins and I’m a fully qualified relationship therapist based at Couple Counselling Sevenoaks and West Wickham.

I’m ‘Integrative counsellor’ which means I don’t believe in a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Therefore, I draw upon different theoretical approaches and tailor the sessions to suit your particular situation.

My training is accredited by the NCS (National Counselling Society) and I’m registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

Alongside working in private practice over the past seven years I have gained experience working with the charity ‘Mind’.

How I can help

My approach to couple counselling is ‘solutions focused’. This means, together we will explore what needs to change/improve to enable you to move forward and achieve your relationship goals.

We will also take some time to look at the past. This is to help you understand, from both perspectives, what hasn’t been working and why. The importantly explore the roles each of you have played in that. I will work with you to understand the challenges faced and assist you in developing clearer communication with each other.

My couple counselling, focuses on the relationship, not the individuals and my approach will be unbiased and non-judgemental. Therefore, allowing you both the opportunity to be open and honest.

The feedback from the couples I have seen is that I am down to earth, making them feel at ease straight away. I appreciate counselling might feel quite daunting at first, so I will do everything I can to help you feel relaxed.
I work diversely and have vast experience working with mixed cultures, same gender relationships, families and friendships. With the right support all relationships issues can be resolved, if that is what both parties want.

Ethical Standards

I subscribe to and work within the NCS code of ethics and the BACP ethical framework. In addition, I undertake regular professional development and supervision.

Alongside holding professional indemnity insurance.

Relationship Counselling Sevenoaks

My name is Sarah Warrington and I’m a fully qualified integrative psychotherapist/counsellor based at Relationship Counselling Sevenoaks. I have worked with both individuals and couples in private practice for over five years.

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). Alongside being an accredited member of the NCS (National Counselling Society)

How I can help

Integrative means I’m trained in different theoretical approaches so I can tailor the therapy to the style which suits you best.

During my couple counselling sessions I work mainly in a ‘solution focused’ way. This means we will focus on what we can change to improve your relationship going forward. We will of course look back at the past because it’s is important to gain an understanding of what has caused issues in your relationship. This will be from both your perspectives so both feel heard and understood. We can then focus on what you both require from each other going forward to achieve your relationships goals.

In couples counselling, it is the relationship that is the client, not the individuals. Therefore, I always aim to remain unbiased and non-judgmental and allow you both the opportunity to talk openly and honestly with each other, in a way you may not have done for some time.

I believe that to get the most out of counselling, it is important to find a therapist that is right for you. For it to be successful, you will need someone you can connect with and feel comfortable and secure opening up to. The feedback I get is that clients are very comfortable talking to me and they find it easy to be open and talk honestly about how they really feel. This helps clients to feel understood and gets you both communicating more effectively.

I work diversely with vast experience working with mixed cultures, same gender relationships, families and friendships.

Ethical Standards

I subscribe to and work within BACP code of ethics and ethical framework. I also undertake regular professional development and supervision as well as having professional indemnity insurance.
