Sj Mason

Gravesend Practice

Relationship Counselling Gravesend

My name is Sj Mason and I’m based at Relationship Counselling Gravesend. I’m a ‘Relate’ trained couple counsellor, along with being a fully qualified therapist for adult individuals.

I have over 10 years’ experience in couple counselling and class myself as a down to earth, open, honest and realistic. I’m also trained in couple mediation, which helps during my work, especially when couples are unsure as to whether they want to stay together or separate amicably.

How I Can Help

As a professional relationship therapist I am trained to ensure that the relationship is the client within the couple work. Most importantly, my aim is to be impartial, non-judgmental to help you achieve your goal.

My work at relationship counselling Gravesend doesn’t have a set modality. This means, I draw upon a toolbox of skills and experience to help you move from a place of worry and insecurity; to a place of hope, harmony and happiness in your relationship.

I take a solutions focused approach. Although, we will look back at the past in order to understand what has not worked well – from both perspectives. It’s important to gain an understanding of what has caused the issues in your relationship and the role you have both played. When we working from a solution base stance we explore how those things can be changed going forward.

I work diversely and have vast experience working with mixed cultures, same gender relationships, families and friendships – any relationship can cause stress and conflict. However, with the right help and support these issues can be resolved.

Ethical Standards

I subscribe to and work within the UKCP code of ethics and the BACP ethical framework. I also undertake regular professional development and supervision as well as having professional indemnity insurance.

My name is Louise Jones and I’m a fully qualified counsellor and couple counsellor based at Couple Counselling Bexley. I have over 11 years’ experience both as an individual adult counsellor and a relationship therapist.

My aim is to offer respectful, non-judgemental, confidential support to both individuals and couples.  I’m a BACP (British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists) registered therapist and a ‘Relate’ trained couple counsellor with a specialist Relationship Counselling Diploma. I am also accredited by CPCAB.

If your relationship is struggling and communication is difficult at the moment, marriage counselling can help you make the changes required in order to improve the quality of your relationship going forward.

How I Can Help

My couple counselling provides an opportunity to improve communication within your relationship. Poor communication is the area that most commonly causes difficulties and brings couples to therapy.

I will enable you both the time and space to identify any current or historic patterns of behaviour; that might be having a detrimental effect on your relationship. Together, we can then find a new way going forward by implementing new strategies to positively impact your relationship.

My approach is warm, supportive and encouraging. I will ensure you both have the opportunity to talk and heard.  When we are in the appropriate environment, we are more likely to be able to hear and say things in a way we have not been able to before.  Each couple is individual and unique and every relationship requires different things. Therefore when we work together, I will help you work towards and achieve your relationship goals.

I have vast experience working with mixed cultures, same gender relationships and families. Any type of relationship can encounter difficulties.

Debbie Fletcher

Bromley Practice

Marriage Counselling Bromley

My name is Debbie Fletcher and I’m based at Marriage Counselling Bromley. I’m an experienced, BACP registered, Integrative Counsellor. Integrative counselling means, that I believe there are a number of different approaches to counselling. I understand that no one couple is the same, so no single theory is sufficient . Therefore I adapt my approach accordingly.

I understand that sometimes, people find it difficult to admit to having problems within their relationship. And that they have been unsuccessful in trying to sort them out on their own. It can feel like a big decision to seek professional help for your relationship. However, I have not yet had one couple tell me they regret it once they have taken the first step. In my experience, problems don’t go away when not discussed, they just fester until the relationship falls apart.

How I can help

A  ‘stuck’  relationship is one of the most common reasons that bring couples to marriage counselling. They keep going round in circles, repeating the same unhelpful patterns of communication and behaviour. Without help, it can be hard enough to identify that this is happening, let alone begin to change it without an understanding of what is going on behind it.

Individuals often complain about feeling not being listened to or that their partner misunderstands them. If this continues over a period of time it can lead to feelings of hurt, anger and resentment on one or both sides. Learning to communicate effectively, not only helps overcome any unresolved issues, it also prevents problems from developing in the future.

I offer a safe, unbiased and relaxed space, which will allow you both the opportunity to talk openly and honestly with each other in a way you may have not done for some time.

Relationship counselling isn’t about attributing blame, nor is it about me taking sides or forcing either one of you to take a particular course of action. It’s about helping you both develop a better understanding of each other, yourselves, and the role you both play in the relationship.

This new understanding will help you to continue to build closer, more honest, loving relationship going forward.

Ethical Standards

I subscribe to and work within the UKCP code of ethics and the BACP ethical framework. I also undertake regular professional development and supervision as well as having professional indemnity insurance.

I an Integrative Counsellor, which means I use a combined approach to counselling, bringing together different elements of specific therapies. I don’t believe that there is a ‘one size fits all’ approach for all couples in every situation. So therefore I tailor my style to suit each individual couples needs.

I do understand, that taking the first step into couple counselling can be quite difficult. However,  rest assured, my approach is warm, understanding and empathetic. I shall provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space.

When our relationships go off track, it can lead to both parties feeling hurt and resentful. This then tends to result in one or both feeling less inclined to want to communicate with the other. I will help you both’really’ listen to your partners perspective and support you both in learning how to start communicating effectively again.

My work has been diverse and I have vast experience in working with mixed cultures, same gender relationships, families and friendships. Marriage Counselling Rochester

I offer a warm, friendly, professional approach to marriage counselling or couple therapy. I will always ensure you both feel listened to with empathy, sensitivity and without judgement during your sessions.

Through my experience, I understand it’s natural for relationships to have ‘ups and downs’ it’s part of life. However, when problems set in over a period of time, relationships can become ‘stuck’ and resentment begins to build. We then struggle to see each others perspectives and struggle to be able to talk things through effectively.

How I can help

I will help you both be honest and encourage you express how you feel and what the problems are in your relationship – from your individual perspective. I will help you ‘really’ listen to each other to help you achieve the outcome you set out at the beginning of the counselling. As a relationship counsellor I’m not here to take sides or pass judgement, it’s not about who is right or wrong, its about helping you both explore what is important to you in a relationship as individuals as well as part of a couple.

Relationship counselling encourages you to work together to learn how to listen and communicate effectively. It’s not about telling you what to do or taking your control or choice away. Couple therapy can help make changes that bring you closer and create a deeper connection for the long term.

I work diversely with mixed cultures, same gender relationships, families and friendships – any relationship can cause stress and conflict.

Sian Jones

Ashford Practice

Couple Counselling Ashford

I started the first ‘Relationship Counselling Kent’ practice in Ashford eight years ago, before expanding across Kent. And have a proven track record in successfully helping hundreds if couples achieve their chosen goal.

How I can help

The approach I take whilst relationship counselling is step by step and non-judgemental. I will encourage you to work through your problems together. When asked the relevant questions, you will both be able to open up and explain what isn’t working for you and why.  In turn, this allows your partner the opportunity to really listen and try understand your point of view.

It’s not about trying to get you to agree to each others perspectives. Nor is it about attributing blame. It’s about gaining a proper understanding of how the other person feels and why. Because importantly, experience has shown, when an ‘understanding’ from both parties is reached, it goes a long way in removing any hurt, resentment or anger that may have built up. This will allow you to move forward more positively, in whichever way you choose.

The feedback I receive is that I have an exceptional ability to make couples feel quickly at ease . For the reason that, when people feel comfortable, they find it much easier to open-up, be honest and communicate more effectively.
