My name is Nic Pendregaust and I’m a fully qualified counsellor based at Couple Counselling Maidstone. I’m a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) alongside being MBACP & MNCS accredited.
I have vast experience working with couples, individuals, children and teenagers. I use an ‘integrative approach’ which means I tailor my approach to suit your individual needs and the goals you set for yourselves.
I provide a safe, confidential environment and take a warm, empathetic and non-judgemental approach. I will help explore your thoughts, feelings and concerns, about the relationship, at your own pace. Most importantly, by gently challenging any unhelpful beliefs or behaviours, I will enable you to move forward more positively.
Couples often complain that their relationship has become ‘stuck’. For the reason that they keep getting in to the same cycle of unhelpful communication. Through couples counselling, you will both have the opportunity to work through your relationship challenges. My gentle questioning will encourage you express the reasons why any negative emotions may have built up towards each other.
Together we will explore your differences and work on improving your understanding and communication so you will be equipped with the relevant tools to be able to manage conflict more effectively. Above all, you will revitalise the emotional connection between you – if that is the goal you set yourselves.
I work diversely with mixed cultures, same sex relationships, families and friendships. For any type of relationship with any kind of problem.
I subscribe to and work within the UKCP code of ethics and the BACP ethical framework alongside having regular professional development and supervision. My professional indemnity insurance is always up to date.
